Team Building & Incentives
A great way to break up the formal side of any conference, is to incorporate some team building activities into the schedule. The award-winning Coral Sea Marina Resort is anchored in the heart of the Whitsundays and acts as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef. Here, we are perfectly placed to point you in the right direction of some exciting and unique team building opportunities, which will entertain your delegates and increase productivity by giving the team a chance to really get to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
One option would be to hire two maxi racing yachts for the day and have a corporate regatta hosted by professional, experienced crew. This would be a great way to bring together members of the team to encourage them to work together to sail the boat and race over the finish line first. Alternatively, perhaps we could assist with organizing a treasure hunt throughout the marina precinct and adjacent community parkway and beach precincts, with the prize for the winners being cocktails and seafood platters on the water’s edge as the sun is setting over the Whitsunday islands.
Alternatively, take the team for a short walk from the marina resort to the Shingley Beach precinct where you could hire stand-up paddle boards for the group and arrange races along the foreshore or divide the group into two teams and set up a beach olympics style activity. The prize for the winning team could be an afternoon of jet skiing out on the Whitsunday waters.
If you are looking at something less adventurous, then we could arrange through our in-house AV equipment to run a team trivia challenge on the projector screens or we could set up the room for a speed dating type exercise, where each of the delegates has one minute to tell the other person five interesting facts about themselves before they move on to the next table. These are both great ways for the delegates to get to know each other or to learn more about their existing colleagues.
Whatever the focus of your conference or corporate gathering and however you wish to bring together the team and get them to experience the Whitsunday region, our experienced team have a wealth of local knowledge that can assist you in facilitating that process in order to ensure your corporate event is a resounding success!
